Week 1: Sunday, Wednesday & Thursday
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday
18:30–06:30
Working a rotating butterfly shift pattern, you’ll play an important role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trailers across the depot and harbour operation. Working closely with the warehouse and transport teams, you’ll ensure trailers are moved and positioned correctly to support day-to-day operational requirements.
You will be responsible for:
Shunting trailers between the yard and ferry terminals across the harbour area
Moving trailers between trailer parks, loading bays, transit areas and the DFDS wash facility
Positioning trailers correctly to support warehouse and transport operations
Completing pre-use checks on shunt vehicles and trailers
Identifying and reporting defects promptly to ensure equipment remains safe and compliant
Following all site safety procedures, policies and operational guidelines
Supporting the smooth and efficient flow of trailers across the yard and warehouse environment
About you
You’ll hold a valid full UK driving licence, be aged 21 or over, and have a valid shunting licence. You’ll be comfortable working night shifts and able to demonstrate flexibility when it comes to overtime and changing operational requirements.
You’ll be reliable, task-focused and able to stay calm and composed in a busy, fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, a proactive approach and a strong commitment to health and safety are essential. You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team where collaboration, respect and teamwork are valued.
