Shore Side Shop Supervisor
Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can set direction and help shape our company? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our team as a Shore Side Shop Supervisor.
Be part of the movement - and play your part.
About the role
As a key member of the operation, you will take full responsibility for the smooth, compliant, and commercially successful running of the Jersey Duty Free shop. This is a hands-on role where you’ll balance operational leadership, stock control, and regulatory compliance, while delivering a consistently high standard of customer experience. Acting as the local representative of the business, you’ll ensure the shop operates efficiently day-to-day, meets all customs requirements, and maintains a well-presented, fully stocked, and welcoming environment.
You will be responsible for
Overseeing daily shop operations, including opening/closing procedures, merchandising standards, and delivering excellent customer service
Managing stock levels by placing orders, receiving deliveries, monitoring inventory movements, and conducting regular stock checks
Supervising and supporting the team, allocating tasks, managing rotas, and ensuring adherence to company procedures and standards
Ensuring full compliance with Jersey Duty Free customs regulations, maintaining accurate records and traceability of all bonded goods
Monitoring performance and reporting, providing updates on sales, stock discrepancies, and operational issues, while identifying opportunities for improvement
About you
You’ll bring solid experience from a retail or store management environment, with a strong understanding of stock control and day-to-day operations. Ideally, you’ll have a background in commerce or retail management, and while experience in a Duty Free or customs-regulated setting is a bonus, it’s your ability to learn quickly and take ownership that really matters. A WSET qualification would be advantageous, but not essential.
You’re highly organised and take pride in doing things properly - especially when it comes to accuracy, compliance, and reporting. Comfortable working independently, you’re equally effective as part of a team, leading by example and supporting colleagues to deliver high standards. You’re confident communicating in English (C1 level or above), with any additional languages seen as a plus.
We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. And we cannot wait for you to join.
