About the role
As Workshop Manager, you’ll oversee the day to day running of our trailer maintenance workshop, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operations. You’ll manage a skilled team, deliver strong workshop performance, and work closely with internal stakeholders to meet demand and maintain high service standards.
You will be responsible for:
Managing workshop performance to achieve targets in asset availability, reliability, productivity, stock control and cost efficiency
Championing QHSE standards through up‑to‑date risk assessments, method statements and strong safety leadership
Overseeing workshop P&L, supporting budget planning and CAPEX specification
Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to grow workshop volume
Monitoring equipment reliability and implementing improvement plans based on performance analysis and root‑cause investigations
Acting as key point of contact for customers and ensuring high quality standards are consistently delivered
Leading your team through coaching, performance reviews, development planning and clear communication
About you
You’ll bring strong people management experience with the ability to lead teams through change, maintain high standards and drive operational performance. You’ll be an excellent communicator who can build strong relationships with internal and external partners, influence others, and support a collaborative working culture. You’ll be confident using IT systems and comfortable managing budgets and performance targets.
A Level 3 qualification in Leadership & Management or equivalent experience is desirable, and an NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair would be an advantage, though not essential.
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re a motivated leader with a solution focused mindset, strong organisational skills, and the ability to keep the workshop operating safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
