About the role
As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees across the business. Working Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, you will be an integral part of a fast-paced Payroll Team, using your strong knowledge and previous payroll experience to manage a variety of payroll functions.
You will be responsible for
- Processing end-to-end payrolls including changes and variations, ensuring all data is accurate and deadlines are met.
- Administering statutory payments and deductions such as SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP, and apply tax code changes, including P45 and P46 documentation.
- Using Time and Attendance systems to gather and verify employee working hours and absence data.
- Responding to and resolving payroll-related queries from employees, taking corrective actions where necessary.
- Preparing and submitting statistical and compliance reports for internal departments and external bodies, including government agencies.
About you
You’ll be CIPP qualified or hold an equivalent payroll certification, with a strong background in end-to-end payroll processing. Highly focused and detail-oriented, you thrive in fast-paced environments where accuracy and efficiency are essential. As a dedicated team player, you bring a proactive approach and a willingness to support colleagues to meet tight deadlines. Your excellent communication skills enable you to clearly explain complex payroll matters and liaise effectively across departments.
With a solid understanding of payroll legislation and procedures, you’re committed to maintaining compliance and always delivering a high standard of service. Your proficiency in Excel and familiarity with payroll systems, including Time and Attendance software, will be vital in maintaining smooth payroll operations and compliance with all statutory requirements.
