About the role
Working any 5 from 7, on a variable 8-hour shift pattern, you will be responsible for:
- Processing customer orders and route them effectively on delivery vehicles.
- Preparing and manage daily transport plans, including subcontractor routing.
- Coordinating with DFDS depots and external partners on delivery requirements.
- Using customer production systems to retrieve and process order information.
- Responding to customer enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Ensuring accurate and timely communication across internal departments.
- Supporting with preparation of internal transport reports and documentation.
About you
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a fast-paced transport or logistics environment, with strong geographical knowledge of the UK. They will possess high attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills, and be a confident communicator with excellent interpersonal abilities. An adaptable and flexible approach allows them to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. As a team player, they take pride in delivering excellent customer service. Additionally, they have solid IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.), and experience in transport planning, with a CPC preferred.
